Seekers Ch 1

            The story starts out following Kallik, a young polar bear cub on her first pilgrimage to land before ‘Burn Sky’, the name for summer in polar bear, settles in. As she travels with her mother and little brother across the frozen ice, they become worried about getting to land soon enough because the ice is melting faster than it ever has before. Because of the melting ice, the seals the bears eat don’t have to breathe through small holes in the ice. With no holes in the ice, the seals can breath without worrying about bears waiting on the icy shore. The melting ice limits their food sources and they will be forced onto land to eat berries and grass, which Kallik and her brother do not know about yet.
